nannan isnt it a REPUBLIC fighter? not CIS. James didn't specify in the rules. He only mentioned "a new type of fighter".

nannan isnt it a REPUBLIC fighter? not CIS. I can easily change it to look like a Republic fighter. And I'm adding a new rule.

Here is my entry, hope you like it, because it took me a good 4 hours to build. I'll start with the lame back story: Sensing the need in the Republic for a high quality craft that functions as either a fighter or a hover tank, Rothana Heavy Engineering has not even come close . By modifying their TX-130 tank to act as a fighter, they have managed to create a clumsy vehicle that can sometimes get off the ground. Ok, so maybe it's not that bad. At least it's armed. www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=137248^Gallery showing the TX-131 from front, back, left, and right, in the tank and fighter positions. Sorry about the big pics. www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1308449^Close up of the hatch; this usually stays open in the tank mode and, if everything is working on the given day, closes for the fighter mode. www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1308458^The antennae. As you can see the one on the right is up for the tank mode, while the one on the left demonstrates the flipped down position for the fighter mode. Because there's an unwritten rule that says fighters can't have large antennae sticking up. www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1308460^These little engines are the main propulsion on the ground, and used for turning in space. Stay back 40 feet like with dump trucks to avoid being scorched. www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1308461^The big engine [it's that round thing] is the boos on the ground and the main propulsion is space. Stay back 300 feet like with fully loaded dump trucks to avoid being scorched. www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1308462^The turret, this is automatically controlled by the droid so that it could be lower and flatter than that of the standard TX-130. And that is a serial number, NOT a license plate. www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1308463^Standard unnecessarily large gun, for shooting freighter things in space and outposts on the ground. What was that you were saying about the serial number? www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1308466^Wing/greebs/first look at the astromech droid. The wings go down for ground use, and a little up for space use. My first attempt at greebs is a disaster. Not much else to say. www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1308470^Astromech droid, added to the standard TX-130 for turret control and other astromech-ish things. Yeah, I do have an R2 head but couldn't find it until after taking the pics. www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1308472^Counter-thrusters eliminate the need for brake flaps on the ground, slow the ship down for atmosphere entry, and give fancy maneuvering in the fighter role. www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1308475^I'm pretty sure this is a shield generator, if you have any other ideas please keep them to yourself. www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1308474View of the hull and SERIAL NUMBER. The hull has undergone some changes to provide a more aerodynamic shape Anyway that's it. Remember that these poor maniacs at Rothana modified this from a tank, and it is more at home on the ground, so I don't know if it counts.

Psst!
Entries are probably more likely to score higher when they're actually viewable. Try resizing them down a bit, please.

As I mentioned, the big pics are for extreme detail and the ones in the gallery are for first viewing.

Very nice RSP, I like the TX-130 idea. But if it wins we would have to say they took the tanks plans, not the tank itself. And as Jail said, smaller pictures would be very nice.

Umm dude, check out this pic. It contains a detail of 3 main pieces. And it's blurry! The larger size actually makes it more difficult to see, because having it a smaller size would sharpen the picture. I don't really see any pics there that require a huge picture to see any detail: I think it would be more clear if they were smaller. Also, I don't see how saying they're for extreme detail is an excuse, when every picture (That I tried to look at,) in your gallery is equally massive. Sorry if I'm sounding rude here, but this is something that really gets on my nerves. The model is nice but the colours don't agree with me. Too chaotic. -John "J1A3L5" Langrish.

Sorry, Ok? I don't know how to change picture size, I would if I could, and when I said pics in the gallery I meant the ones in the gallery before clicking on them, and I know that isn't great either. You're right, but I can't do much else at this point. P.S. As for the colors, I had planned to make everything that was trans-light-green black, but I didn't have enough of those particular black pieces. Sorry about that too, but don't take it as an excuse, rate the model as it is like you've done.

This is my entry, the AMF-2. please note, this is different then AMF-1, although the specs are the same. www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zjpahle/AMF-2/hpim0485.jpgI realize that there has just been this big discussion on how big the pics are. If the pictures are too big in this folder, try clicking again for the deep link. This should downsize it considerably and solve any problems with the size. If this still bugs anybody please email me and I will fix it. Specs here: www.mocpages.com/moc.php/9594Sorry about the large pics.
