Hey all, As some of you may know, I am planing on making the Star Wars movies into LEGO comics. Here is a very small look at what it will look like. When it is made public, go here and keep clicking " Next" As I said before, it is a very small look at what it will look like. None of the pictures show here will make it into the comics. So don't kill me because it is bad. You can hurt me, just not fatally. Edit #2: After a day of hard work, it is done. I have added sound to it. Take a look: Star Wars in Brick Trailer

Jamit -
It looks like the scenes will be simple, but definitely recognizable, which is the important thing. The main issue is the writing...you really need to find a more appealing way to do text that doesn't look like it was done in paint. Speech bubbles are what I'd suggest, but they might blot out background details, if you're going to make polished scenery.
-John.

Well Speech bubbles are hard to do in MS Paint. But I hope to get my hands on Photoshop before I start making the real thing. If I do I will try my hardest to do Speech bubbles.

Well, I'm not entirely sure speech bubbles are the way to go. Are you going to make highly detailed backdrops for each scene, or focus on the story more than the building? You don't want to obscure the whole backdrop with speech bubbles, and they take a lot longer to do. I think doing them below might be fine, but a white bar with black text inside is pretty tacky. Perhaps if you added a slightly fancy/spacey outlines around the text or if you put a corner box in each image. it would work better. Check out this comic of mine, to see examples. Can't wait to see more! Are you going to release it bit-by-bit, or try to do the entire movie before showing it? -John.

I plan on making highly detailed MOCs and such for this project. But I will also spend a lot of time on the story. I will be adding many scenes that are not found in the movie. Scenes from the books and scenes from my own head. I would hate to have text on top of the pictures. That is not the way it should be. But I would also hate to ruin the story with bad looking text. I will experiment with your ideas later tonight... I plan to release each comic in its entirety. And because I want to do that it will be a very long wait. I just hope I can get a job in August.

It may, but the story itself has been done many times in LEGO that if I just remake it into a comic, it will be boring. Adding Vader going back to Coruscant at the end may make it more exiting. Then again it could ruin the whole thing.

Is it allowed to make this kind of thing? The music and the speak are from the movie anyway.. Some might view them as copyrighted material.

Ah yes, TheQ always going on about copyright laws. I don't think it is allowed, I also don't think Lucas film will care.

No offense taken. It would only make sense for someone who is about 4 years older then me to act 4 years older.
