Wartime Journal
A Clone Wars Comic (Credit for the idea goes to Thies/General West)

Clone Wars day 291
Location: Raygus 5, a small, little known outer rim planet.
Terrain: Mostly forests and fields, with some desert areas.
Status: The planet is at war with the seperatists on one side of the planet, and there is a group of Rebels, who fight under the banner of their own planet. The Republic has a small base, of high strategic value. The reason is classified.
Objective: The base must be protected at all costs.


Log entry: I was but a young and reckless Knight when I came to this planet. My experiences changed me greatly.


When I reached my new "home" (If I were to last long enough to be able to call it that) I was very surprised to find two extremley recognizable figures


Obi-Wan: Wei! I didn't expect to see you agian so soon.
Wei: I didn't expect ot see you agian at all! I ran into some trandoshans on Tattoine, and I really thought I had met the end.
Anakin: Master Wei, it is a pleasure seeing you again os soon, but we've got another mission to attend to.
Obi-Wan: Yes, we have to leave inmediatley.


They left for their next mission. I had the feeling I would never see them again...


But I had other things to worry about...


Sigma09: GeneralWei? I am Sigma 09, Clone Commando. I guess I should welcome you to the base. Say hello... The Commander is with the Jedi masters on the beachfront.
Wei: A little cocky for a clone, aren't you? But thanks.


I walked over to the beach. I was surprised to find that Ohnine was refering to master Yoda and Luminura Undili.


Wei: Master Yoda..
Yoda: Ah, Wei, so come you have! Like you, a good Jedi here what we need is!
Luminura: Greetings Wei. It has been a long time since we last saw eachover.
Wei: Thank you masters, I will try m best.
Yoda: This already been taught you have! Do, or do not, there is no try!


Teyer: Ah, General. Welcome to Raygus 5. I am Commander Teyer.
Wei: I was already "welcomed" by one of your commandoes.
Teye: Sir, do not lisen to him. He lost his squad and hasnt been the same since. Right, now let's discuss the enemy.


Teyer: They are more than just a smalll rebellion. They may not look like much, but they are all experienced war veterans who have fought many battles. They know this terrain better than any of our men, and could easily ambush us. For that our tactician is working on a plan. We will receive reinforcments in about three monh standard. Until then we sit tight....

Clone Wars day 312

Log entry: I had now gotten to know the place where I was stationed. Not much had happened. Heh, must have been the calm before the storm.


Tactician: General, we have thought of a plan.
Wei: What would that be, soldier?
Tactician: Well, it's simple, really. If we let them attack us we will have the territorial advantage. But...
Wei: But what?
Tactician: Well, sir, our scouts have been monitoring them, and they will strike before we gain reinforcements...


Knowing this, I became alot more serious about the task...
Wei: What? We can't expect to beat them with the numbers we have!
Tactician: Well, sir, they are few men...
Wei: Gah, you don't even understand their army! They're few men, sure, but capable of tearing down a Seperatist fleet!
Tactician: Well, even we could do that *snicker*
Wei: Not the time for jokes, soldier.


Clone Wars day 332
We had little time to prepare our troops fully, and we had no reinforcements. We were more or less twenty men.


They came, as expected, in small numbers at first. it was easy for them to bring down the Clone troopers...


...But we could count on five Jedi, including myself. Four jedi, each who I am familiar with. This battle was nostalgic... it reminded me of things Ii wished not to remember, of when I lost my master...


The first wave was complete, and we lost only five men...


...But for me, one man is too many.


Wha came next was quite unexpected... Two new seperatist droids, probably stolen and re-progammed, and a dragonmount, ridden by an elite trooper.


The Elite took down the AT-RT easily, and master Yamnoff engaged one of the doids in combat.


This was the sepratists newest, and most advanced droid. Who could have known that it was so powerful...


He managed to dismember the droid, but it was already too late.


He took out the seperatist's greatest chance of winning the war... In exchange for his life.


It was that day I learnt the true horrors of war...


History repeated itself, and I vowed that after this war was over, I would never fight again...

Part 2:

Clone Wars day 643
Location: Raygus 5, central desert, approximate to secret Republic base.
Scout team objective: Suspicious activites and heat signals are coming form the desert. Find out what it is coming form, and avoid getting caught.


Log Entry: At the time I thought it was simply the remainding rebels.
Hah, little did I know.


Grevious: *Cough* What is the current situation, Commander Plisk?
Plisk: Sir, the republic are few in numbers. There are currently only three Jedi stationed there. Now would be a perfect time to strike...


Trandoshan: Zir, picking up life transsmissions! Very close....


Greivous: GAH! Fools! Now I see why we have a droid army!


Log Entry: The scouts had no choice but to shoot and run.. Unluckily for them, they were dealing with more than just a droid..


Only one scout got away. But that was only because Greivous wanted him to. Heh, little did he know! That fool, all he wants is attention!


Greivous: Move the troops to the river... And make sure the republic don't find you this time!


Log Entry: The base increased smewhat in size, in the legnth of a year... Still we hadn't been informed of it's true nature.


I was surprised to find that only one of the Scouts was back. He seemed to be in a dying state. They may be clones, but they are still humans, not some war toys!


Wei: Pax, get a medic, and fast!
Scout: No, Commander, I am already lost! I have...ugh..very important information...
Wei: Tell me soldier!
Scout:They are few in..ugh.. numbers, but they are with *cough* Greivou...ugh...*dead*
Wei: D*mn...May the Force be with you...

Wei: Commander! The Speratists, they've arrived!
Teyer: Yes, General, we know...


Wei: You knew this, yet I wasn't informed?
Teyer: General, the high Commander was afraid you would stop the Scouting missions... I see the Scouts have reported in. How many Seperatists?
Wei: Few, but Greivous is with them.

Clone Wars day 650


Pax Sorad: More Scouts have seen the Seperatists move their forces to a point closer to the mountains.
High Commander: But, do we wait for them to make their move, or do we attack them?


Sorad: Well, if we let the-
Wei: No, they won't attack us. They will just wait for reinforcements to arrive. We need to strike, and fast! If we send half of our forces to this point, we could easily defeat them.
High Commander: But that would leave the base vunerable to at-
Wei: They don't know about this base. I will lead the attack. I'll need Sorad and Jei Corasoto to even attempt to fight Greivous.

Clone Wars day 662
Location: Raygus5, river Teyden.
Objective: Defeat Seperatist task force.


Trando: Zir, the Republic is here, they have already defeated most of the droidz!
Greivous: Stand your ground, soldier.


Trando: Zir, they are surrounding us!


That battle that ensued was not a big one, but one worthy of mention.


The Swamp speeder, sadly, was rendered useless against Grevous' "walker", if you could call it that.


Soon it was only him against us three Jedi.


Wei: Go for the legs! I'll deal wih Greivous!






Greivous' vehicle was soon disabled, leaving him at a disadvantage.


He jumped from his Vehicle in a very agile jump. I was surprised that a droid could do that.


And for a non-jedi, he landed pretty well.




He pulled out two lightsabers form his "collection".


And out of his arms came another two.


He may have had four sabers, but it was five lightsabers against four, and we had the advantage...

Greivous leapt from his place.


He casually took on all three of us at once. Perhaps the advantage was his.


Wei: Greivous, preapre yourself!


We underestimated Greivous. His skill was truly good. He cleverly abused any opening he had...


...And managed to take Sorad's hand withing minutes of the battle.


Sorad: Augh! *Falls*
Wei: Sorad, get up!

I distracted Greivous by attacking from behind, and provided an opening for Jei.


But Greivous noticed, and easily dodged it.


Jei: Wei, a little help, please!
Wei: Ack!


I was knocked to the ground and it was four sabers against Jei.


Jei, skilled how he is, managed to take one of Greivous' arms.


Not being a Jedi, Greivous had no restrictions on vengace, and fought harder than before. He focused his rage and struck down Jei with one blow full of fear and hatred.


Wei: Okay, Spiderman, fight me!
Greivous: *hack, cough* Must... Retreat...


He jumped back, in fear of defeat.


Greivous: *Cough* Jedi, you have failed your mission! Muahahaha*cough*ha...


Wei: *Shouting* Come back here, fiend! Come back and fight me, coward!


Wei: Pax, you're alive!
Sorad: Augh, my hand. At least I won't bleed to death...


Jei: Augh... Wei... Protect the... the Republic... My days are over...
Wei... Jei, you'll be fine... Jei... JEI!


My good friend was lost...


Along with the lives of too many soldiers...


We returned to the base only to find more destruction. The ill-fated battle that had just taken place was but a mere distraction. How could I have been so stupid? And how could they have known?

There was destruction all around. The sepertaist had more scouts than we had thought...


Teyer: Sir, the Seperatist attacked only an hour ago, sir. There were more than.
Wei: Perhaps it is time you told me what the seperatists were trying to find... And how they found out.


Teyer: Yes, sir. They were looking for these. Force crystals. As I said, we destroyed them before they got a chance to take them. All but one. The tide of this war rested upon that.
Wei: Contact the Republic, tell them to bring one transports hsip, we're getting off this planet.
Teyer: Sir, I'm afraid they destroyed all communications. We're stranded. And we have a defector within our ranks...


And so the day ended. We were stuck on an outer rim planet with ten soldiers, one of whom was defective, and no transport. It seemed the war was no longer our concern.

Wartime Journal
Part III: Of Beginings and Endings

Clone Wars day 1
Location: Geonosis, 100 miles west of the droid factories
Status: A battle currently takes place 100 miles east of the location
Objective: There is a mining facility nearby. It is being used to get resources for the seperatist droid armies. We have sent soemone posed as a defective senator wanting to join the Confederacy. It is your job to capture the two seperatists leading the operation, and shut down the facility for good.


The mining facility was hidden in the arid deserts of the bug-infested world. Our job was to shut it down.


Alien: I am glad that more systems come to join our cause. Corellia has many resources and routes that will be most useful. Senator, when will these be avialable to us?
Senator: As soon as you convince me. What I have been shown barley looks promising.


Alien: Oh, I assure you, senator, it will be most worth it. You will be a fine adition to our cause.


Senator: Don't try to sweet-talk me, Yeesh.


Yeesh: Senator, I intend no such thing.
Senator: Bah, where is out host?


Yeesh: Well, right now he's a bit...


Busy...


Screitch Scrotch: Kill them! Kill them! I want them all dead!
Droid: RogerRoger!


If I were to complete this mission, I would become a Jedi knight. My skill was already above par, and my form IV saber combat was recognized even by master Yoda. The fight in the hangar was one of the easiest I ever thought.


Before you could blink all the droids were disabled.


My master, Ajax Lannix, quickly dispatched of his foe.


And the mercenaries were no match for a Jedi Knight.


They never even stood a chance...


Soon, there was no one left except Screitch, the seperatist.


Screitch fled, and I pursued.


Ajax: Wait, Wei, it's too dangerous! Don't go on alone.


Being the naive youg padawan I was, I payed no heed, and went solo. I had a reputation for making bad choices...

Meanwhile, the Senator grew impatient.
Senator: I demand to see our host inmediately!
Yeesh: Calm down sir; he will be here soon enough.


Yeesh: As I said, he is just sorting some things out. As soon as he is done, he shall be with us.


As the Senator was about to leave, Scrootch arrived.
Senator: Ah, our gracious host arrives. What took you?
Screitch: Forgive my tardiness, senator, for I had some matters to attend to.


Senator: Now, what about a tour of the facility?
Screitch: Pacience. I will show you a holo map of the facility.


Screitch: As you can see, in the hangars there are chutes leading to the oil supply. Fuel can be accesed throughout the whole faicility.
Senator: I see. Can this not be a potential threat?
Screitch: Bah, it is nothing. No-one can breach this place.
Senator: I am sure.


Screitch: Now, follow me. I shall start the tour of the facilities.
Senator: I would be delighted.

After hours of searching, I coincidentally came across our target.
Screitch: This is one of the many hangars in teh vicinity. As you can see, it is a slight mess at the moment. We had to make some repairs on this craft.
Senator: Are there no bigger hangars? This is quite unimpressive.
Yeesh: Sir, this is but one of the many smaller hangars.


Screitch: Our equipment here is truly state of the art. Thes ecurity systems are unmatchable.
Senator: Are this planets activities not supposed to be unknown? Why would you need to take such measures?
Screitch: Just in case, senator.


As they talked, I descended. I was preapared to step out of the Jedi code to acheive my mission. I was more loyal to the Republic than the Jedi.
Screitch: As I was saying; no one could ever infiltrate this... this fortress!


One of the natives inadvertently sealed to fate of many. By chance.


Geonosian: [Need to get some more oil for the gun.]


As he went to get some more oil, he noticed me, about to end his employer's life.
Geonosian: [LOOK OUT!]


Screitch: Eeek! Get him!


Geonosian: [Don't move, scumbag]
Wei: Scumbag? Look at who you're working for!


Screitch: A Jedi assasin? What will they send next? An army of cloned bounty hunters? Hah! It looks like you failed, Jedi!


I reached out into the force, seeking a way to rid me of my foe.


I found a way.
Wei: No, scum, you fail.
Screitch: What the... Aaaagh!

And my mission was one step closer to completion. One step closer to knighthood.


The two natives had never seen anything like it before. They were left speechless...
Senator: I think I should leave...


Or perhaps they weren't given a chance to talk. My companions arrived in the nick of time, saving my life.


Wei: Masters, how did you find me?
Ajax: Why, through the force, my arrogant young Padawan.
Jim: Aye. You are but a padawan. You should have waited for us before taking pursuit. Where's Scrootch?
Wei: Well, um, under that pile of rubble.

Meanwhie, the droids were activated from a control room.


Ajax: Dead?
Wei: Yep.. Wait, I have a bad feeling about this...
Jim: What is it?


Wei: Jim, look out!
Jim: What the..


My master flung himself at Jim's killer, and a fatal battle begun.


It was a hopless battle, as confusion reigned. Not after long, my master was overwhelmed.


Ajax: AGH!


Wei: Master!
Ajax: Wei...


Ajax: Wei... Take my lightsaber... Protect the galaxy...
Wei: Master, don't leave me... I still have much to learn!
Ajax: I must.. Depart...

And with that, the three Jedi I came with became one with the force.

My emotions were raw. Anger and doubt were flying through my mind. I was certainly being no Jedi. I grabbed my saber with the force, thinking only of satisfying my anger.


I took both sabers to my unarmed, weakened foe.


As the blades crossed eachover's path, I felt his life end. But that wasn't the only thing I felt. I felt good. Relieved. Things I wasn't supposed to feel.


I dropped a thremal detonator into the oil chute, set to ten minutes. I warned the senator via comlink...


And proceeded to take my leave.


The Senator fled the base as soon as he got my message. I went on to become a knight, and fought in many battles until being stationed here, on Raygus.

That was really good. Nothing I really disliked. Except maybe your very first image could have looked better if there was a tan LEGO board behind it. But that's really a small thing. Again, good job!
