Three main reasons why I want to move away from Proboards are
A) The url. I really do think that the ".proboards3.com" scares a lot of people. If and when we get a new forum, it would be something along "forum.laml.org" which to me looks much more professional or like my friend said: "Looks like you guys are serious about this thing".
B) Proboards isn't safe. Sure, our server has been good for long time but if and, eventually, when the server wipe happens, there isn't much we can do after that. Hosting our own forum will get us much more safe enviroment (since we are paying customers).
C) Proboards cannot be modified a lot. I am a PHP coder and if I get access to some files, I can bring up some rather fun new additions. Also, we can modify the site as much as we like, handy when we want to get some more "extreme" graphs in the play.

PHP's just a coding system. We can't specifically move to it.For sure I know that the system we will move to is PHP-based for, as TheQ said, easy editing and open-source to make the design very nice. I'll also help out with graphics if it's required, I've messed around with Illustrator CS too little same with a couple of animations on Flash 8 if required.

Lets split it up. One of us can do the site and the other can do the forums. If its ok with Jamit and TheQ.

Or you could work as a group. Yes, it is little harder but that will give so much information about group activities (I do sound like a teacher, eh?). I do have some suggestion about the site (like keeping the "color per subject" thing I had there) but still, artists can freely make their own versions. And PHP is just pre-formating code. We are heading to MercuryBoard which is free and open source forum software (althought Finbrick is going to use phorun )

That is something you better ask from James. He makes the final choice.

I guess I'll wait and see what happens. I just hope noone hand-cuffs me to the mast so I go down with the forums. I may not even join the new forums, we'll see.

No it isn't, but I hardly have time for LAML as it is. I will probably join eventually but I will still be pretty inactive as I am now.

Well, just try and join it. You don't need so much time as it is. For example, I am member of CSF but only seldom reply to topics.
