Why does the LEGO company like to shove in random colored bricks into their sets? Why is there green in the TIE, why is there yellow in the Falcon, and why is there brown in the imperial shuttle? I don't think it's because they want more options for rebuilding possibilities.

I tolerate them. Sometimes it's worth it... like lime green, brown, white, grey, dark grey. Blue and Yellow seem to be the most useless, though.

as long as the actual set is built, throw in as many bricks as you want.

There's also a blue brick in the middle of the TF Tank thing. I don't mind them so much. I've probably used that blue brick more than any other piece in the set...

I can tolerate them, but it's odd, why does LEGO even do it?

It gives children more colours to work with on their silly multi-coloured junk piles with open cockpits that are meant to be spaceships.
