That's....interesting. Not a good move on LEGO's part at all.

I have seen the Exoforce sets some time ago in the BrickShelf. It was among the first new themes I looked at. Ok, lets break the peanut..
Good:
- FIBERS! Just when I have started needing them they return? Yay ^^ - Some nicely decorated bricks - Less Bionicle than I expected, which is all ways good (sorry Bio-friends) - Articulation points are now way better than before. Good for new Mecha builders (I myslef prefer old school technic and SYSTEM solutions) - Seems good money-maker for LEGO, which has been low for sometime. Anime is now hot thing and I believe that many younger viewers want these sets. - Return of the minirocket and goblets! Wohoo!
Evil:
- Looks more like toy-figure than LEGO creation. - New "monsters" seem so lame, the SW droid were much more "usable" - Those new hairs aren't gonna do it.. Very lame and "one-use" elements. - Very few and oddly-colored SYSTEM bricks. Very annoying..
So, for myself this theme is bad but for LEGO, good investment. I just hope that this will hit some fire and gain TLG extra money.

Thanks for the thread. +9 bricks Neo. You all should visit the official site and watch the video.
As for the theme, I think it's one of the better ones, but certainly nothing compared to SW or other classic themes. I'll buy a few of the sets, and maybe try my luck at mecha-building.
I love by the Japanese inspiration, the hair style is uniquely cool.
Have you noticed that anime characters are the physical foils of real Japanese people? Anime: impossible hair styles, myriad of hair colors, tall, big eyes, girls have big Japanese people: ordinary black hair, short, slit eyes, girls have small

The EF sets are now for sale at S@H and TRU. The MSRP for the mechas are $5 less than I predicted. From the zoom feature on S@H, I can see that these sets are abusing the stickers. There are no printed bricks!
Being Chinese, I am able to bring you translations to the characters on the human mechas. In the red Grand Titan, the two chars on the leg say "dragon fang" and the four chars on the shoulder blade say "gound trooper". In the white Stealth Hunter, the two the two chars on the leg say "dragon wing" and the four chars on the shoulder blade say "arial trooper" In Gate Assault, the chars on the gate say "key pass" (meaning an important entryway, not a door that requires a key)

Actually nannah exo-force is a Japanese anime series and the words on Japaneses not Chinese. So I think they have different meaning then you mentioned above.

Wrong, those are Chinese characters. The series is just BASED off of anime, it's not REAL anime. I imagine I could use the Chinese stickers on some Firefly MOCs.

I could use those heads on making figures from various animé shows I watch.

What kind of anime do you watch dyip? My favorite was Ronin Warriors.

We should start another thread if we were to talk about that. I watch Naruto. That's about it.
