Share with us your joy of receiving your first LEGO set. Which one was it? What did you build with it? Is it going to the grave with you? My first LEGO set was Bandit's hideout, received in 1997. I still remember that crisp afternoon where I spent an hour building the set in the sunlit living room of my old apartment. In the months after I've created this moc out of the original set. It still sits comfortably in the dust in my bedroom today. Fyi, my second set was the notorious Fort Legoredo, a classic among classics.

The first set I owned was a box of basic bricks, and I've never been quite certain which it was. I think it's a good chance it was 515. I know I own it, but I don't know if it was the first. Among other first sets, I know I also got 6593, 6531, and 1879 very early on. I was four years old when I got my first LEGO set, that much I know. So I don't really remember exactly. I also got my mom's small box of old LEGO promptly after I liked LEGO. -John "J1A3L5" Langrish.

I had some kind of small car when I was really really little. Other than that though, I got my first set when I was about 6 years old, it was a large craft from the hydronauts line. And I put the whole thing together at that age ! Then I saw some Ice Planet stuff I liked at age 9 and eventually gathered the entire Ice Planet line, excluding little baggies. That's why I feature blue and white a lot in my MOC's,. I saved up a long time then for the RIS system, which is pretty cool but doesn't always work with our computer. I built a lot of large "bases" for a while but got bored after a while of that. My first rubber band gun was built over three years ago. [I'm 13 BTW] It fired 8 rubber bands all at once. Sorry that was a bit of a rant...

My first lego was around 1997-1998, I don't even remember what the set was called but. It had a Fright Knight dude, with a Black Dragon w/ trans-orange wings, it was awesome.

My first set might be this one: 545 5+ Build-N-Store Chest. The chest is now used as a storage for my OldGrey bricks. From 1x1s to 1x8s. Man, I wish I had more of those chests.
