You got those for $10? And make sure you brake those then make a MOC. Don't stick two pieces on and call it a MOC.

I am interested on this one.. So, basically you bought some ones old MOCs? (Not trying to make you feel bad) Hi, these aren't MOC's. They're partly complete sets. 7134 - A-Wing Fighter7141 - Naboo Starfighter5935 - Island Hopper6582 - Daredevil Flight SquadAll in all, that's a pretty good deal. The A-Wing set is pretty rare now (Luckily I have two!) and it doesn't look like any important pieces are missing. Except the pilot of course... The Naboo Starfighter is another fairly unusual set, but is also one of the my least favourite Star Wars sets I own. It's okay for parts though. The Island Hopper is a cool set, though nothing overly special. It looks like there's a lot missing from that set. The Daredevil Flight Squad I'm not overly familiar with. I own most, or all, of the peices to it, which I got from a friend of mine, but I've never built it. It looks like a pretty cool set, but again, everything is missing except that one plane. The plane looks fairly complete though... Great buy. I just hope the pieces are in good condition. -John "J1A3L5" Langrish.

Hi Neo, they may have been $20 each, new and complete. I'd say, combined, you got about half the parts. I personally wouldn't have gone higher than $15-20 for the whole lot, because you can't be sure what condition the pieces are in. Often mismatch lots like this are unreliable.

People sell things they made (MOCs) on EBAY?
And I am confused...did you buy all four of those things for $10? Or was each of them $10?

People sell things they made (MOCs) on EBAY? Occassionally. It isn't really that common. Often they're pretty lame. Sometimes cool stuff does pop up. Like, right now this guy is selling some pretty cool castle customs which feature moderate amounts of figs. And I am confused...did you buy all four of those things for $10? Or was each of them $10? I'm pretty sure all of them combined cost $10. Otherwise, it would have been a pretty poor deal. -John "J1A3L5" Langrish.

Okay, thank you very much. I suppose that is a good thing to do, but do most people buy the things for the creation or for the LEGO elements?
Yes, I suppose it would be a bad deal.

I hate to completely change this thread from it's original topic, but I'm not sure what else can be or will be said about the certain auction... I suppose that is a good thing to do,... Sometimes it is. It's cool if people can sell an awesome model, that is worthy of being displayed. But unfortunately, the people who have the talent and pieces to make sets like that are often not the ones to be so interested in selling their models. Because of this, often people try to sell models that aren't really good enough to be sold. Plus, to sell a model, you really need some form of instructions and packaging. This takes a lot of time, and many people will try to cut corners with it and stuff. ...but do most people buy the things for the creation or for the LEGO elements? It varies. I've only ever twice bought custom creations. Once, was for my SLAM kit, and the other was for my MATCHBOT kits. The SLAM kit was very impressive. It included a (very nicely labelled!) CD-rom of well-done instructions, and other pictures of both the set and other PCS pieces. As you can see in the picture, it even came with a labelled storage container. The MATCHBOT sets were so much smaller, so not a lot can be said about them - But, as you can see, they too included printed instructions, and a printed-on box. Both very finished products. If they weren't so finished, there's no chance I would have bought them. All in all, it's a big debate about whether people should sell their own models or not. Personally, I've had many people ask me if I can make my MHA bots into sets and sell. I've been tempted to many times, and even started to amass pieces for them. But two problems stand in the way - First, the fact I don't like Ldraw, and secondly, the fact they'd cost so much. In order for me to not lose money on them, they'd probably have to cost $8-10, including shipping. I think that's a lot to expect people to spend on a little robot. -John "SLAM Rocks" Langrish.
