It's not perfect, but I tried modeling the Ecto 1 from the first Ghostbusters film as a 6 wide vehicle. I really like the new "hood pieces" Lego has been making in recent years but wish they would make additional parts to extend the hood if one desired to do so. That's why I had to use two 2x2 plates set at an angle. Making tail fins for a 6 wide was a challenge too. Anyway, I think I achieved a decent likeness, but comments/reviews/ratings are welcome.

My first impression was that this was a great MOC. But then the pessimist inside of me came through, sorry.

The car itself is too skinny. Making it two studs longer would work much better. The top of the car is far too crowed with stuff. That problem could again be fixed by widening it. Besides that not much to say. Except perhaps this. The Ghost traps were, as you said, "simple, yet effective."
