It is a neat design, but I can not see how it would be used. How is it used in "Aliens movies and the AVP games"?

Its used by the Colonial marines from Aliens and its used by the Weyland yutani corp in Aliens vs Predator

It is a neat design, but I can not see how it would be used. How is it used in "Aliens movies and the AVP games"? +10 Bricks In the Aliens movie, they are trapped within a terraforming complex. To defend the two entrances they can't block using fused-togetehr junk, they use these Auto-Turrets which detect and fire at motion. The ammo counter can be read from within their barrier. In the Alien Vs Predator games, the Weyland-Yutani corporation uses these.
