This is my first attempt at a unsymmetrical MOC. I hope you like it and want to hear ALL of your comments . Here it is The Bronze Zepplin.

Good shape, but it needs more detail added.

Interesting, but it needs some improvement.

1. I'd replace the gold dome with some sort of sensor array. Use a bunch of greeblies and antennae pieces.
2. Change those Star Wars laser cnnons to something a little more creative. Look at Chirs Giddens' or Soren Roberts' stuff for weapon inspiration. The use of Star Wars cannons is kinda cheap.
3. Add some detail to the top of the craft.
4. Make some yellow or rust-brown highlights. If you're going to call it the BRONZE Zeppelin, you should probably have some sort of bronze-esque color highlight

Ok, let's assume you like that shape:

Destroy that model.


Rebuild it from the tail, up. That is, set the ship on it's tail, and place your bricks vertically (studs pointing away from the tail, ie forward), then tilt it when you've got the body done. Now take a look at it.

Take note of the bare spaces. Take note of the boring areas (it should all be boring). Think of ways to break the monotony. A shell with greebs beneath? Greebs tacked onto a hull? ingress/egress ports? Anything and everything you can think of.

Remember these changes, and test them out. I don't want your ship's main portal to be the windshield, unless you get a new windshield or reposition the one you have. You may alread have repositioned the windshield with the body rebuild. So think of different ways to incorporate a portal. Think about combining several ideas into one.

Once you've got ideas, you should be able to get a rhythm going and you will know where you want to go.



Also think of inspiration: The first thing I thought of upon reading the name was "Zeppelin". Your creation does not invoke a zeppelin in my mind. Try renaming it.
