Hi friends, here are the recent additions to my little town "Steinford". Perhaps you saw them on lugnet, but I'd like to present them once more here. I just finished three buildings. They are based on original buildings here in Germany. The original buildings are famous representants of the gotik period. Two of them are built of dark red 1x2-plates, the other is built from white and tan plates and tiles. Here are the pics: > > Further pictures are here: www.festum.de/1000steine/myimages/album595Enjoy my mocs Andreas Böker (abhf)

No wonder you were gone. True work of art you have here. I could never build good as you. 5/5. BTW I think this goes in the town section.

Andreas,
I was admiring these a few days ago on LUGNET. The buildings are great and all, but not quite my thing. That whole curved wall and stairs, and that wall section though....that's astounding. It's stunning, and studless. I love studless.
All the great details...especially the old style photographer make the whole scene perfect.
Stunning, Andreas. That 1x2-built curve looks pretty tight...is it under pretty extreme tension? I've been playing around with a lot of those type curves, but that looks tighter than I've easily been able to achieve with just 1x2's.
Keep it coming! Are these completely out of your head, or modelled on something?

Why is Keith Goldman popular when there are buildings like this to be shown? That's all I have to say about that.

Jail! What's wrong with you. I would have thought that you would have been the last person to miss Now for my review. You again turn out a large scale MOC which contains tons of detail. I can not imagine the patience you must have. I can see nothing wrong with this new MOC of yours. *Goes to give you five of these, , on MOC pages* Now a question, you spoke of "my little town "Steinford"" like you have more buildings made. So my question is, have you broken the other buildings that you have made. If so, were do you store them?

Heh, my bad. I skipped to the pics on LUGNET, and then didn't really read the post here because I assumed it was the same as on LUGNET...which it seems to be. My mistake.

Thaks to you all. Thaks a lot. Let me answer some of your questions: "That 1x2-built curve looks pretty tight...is it under pretty extreme tension? I've been playing around with a lot of those type curves, but that looks tighter than I've easily been able to achieve with just 1x2's." Yes, the tension is quite extreme. I don't think, you can build it smaller. My construction is built of abou 50 bricks. There are no damages yet, but lets see what happens in the next month. "Now a question, you spoke of "my little town "Steinford"" like you have more buildings made. So my question is, have you broken the other buildings that you have made. If so, were do you store them? " Steinford is my actual project. All my buildings are still existing. They are the base for my display for shows and events. I try to add some from time to time. For Events tey are arranged in different ways. Our next Event is in Berlin in August 2006 and what you see here is the newest part. My other houses will be arranged with these. To do this, I've to build a new surounding. If I should ever change to an other subject, I'd brake them (if I really could.....) and build something new. Between the shows, everything is stored in my cellar. Only the parts, I'm building are actualy on my table. I hope, this answers your questions. For more pics from Steinford you may browse my galery on 1000steine: festum.de/1000steine/myimages/album603or start browsing here: festum.de/1000steine/myimages/album267Thanks once more. Andreas Böker (abhf) One last question: "Why is Keith Goldman popular when there are buildings like this to be shown? That's all I have to say about that." Who is Keith Goldman?

Hi Steven,
let me answer this question:
"Why can't you use BrickShelf insted of 1000steine: ? "
I used BrickShelf before but it is just to slow. And there has been so much trouble closing or not closing... I still do not know, what is the future of Brickshelf.
And BrickShelf has no auto-adjust-funktion for resizing to large pics. I often take pics higher than 1024x768. Uploading these to 1000steine resizes them automatically. This is very fine if you are lasy.
Otherwise I'm posting my main mocs here, on lugnet, on mocpages and on 1000steine. Everyone should have the chance to see them. I know, that BrickShelf is the number one in hosting Lego pics and has got the most visitors. But to me it is old-stylish. You can not get in contact with the people, you can not comment and discuss, you can not vote. You can only host your pics. I could use BrickShelf additional, but that takes so much time. May be, I'll find the time to upload my pics to Brickshelf................

Hi TheQ,
"I don't know if that last line was sarcasm but still, check the "New Keith Goldman MOC" thread "
Sarcasm - thats what I was thinking too. But I still do not know if these words were positive or negative. Perhaps I do not understand all aspects of the english language because this is not my first language.
Nevertheless this moc is a fantastic one. It is another theme, but is is great. I like mocs, using all the three dimensions. It shows an awesome feeling............
But I'd not compare these mocs.

I have another question that I thought of today. How long did it take you to make this MOC. And was it on-again, off-again building or did you sit down and not eat or drink until this MOC was done?

Hi Jamit,
it took about 5 month to build this. I built in 4 segments: the three buildings each separatly and the surrounding. But I built them all at the same time. I changed the object each time I was tired to build in darkred, tired to build gray, tired to build roofs and so one. There were times I was "inventing" new parts and building prototypes and other times were I could only build, build and build without any new idea. It was a very intensive time that took me nights - besides familiy, work, eating, drinking..............

Hi Steven, difficult question: as long as I'm interested in this theme. Actualy I'm prototyping for a new church in Steinford. Estimated bulding time: 1 year. So I will keep it for that time, but I think there are more things to come (Railway and station, half timbered houses, ......) Andreas Böker (abhf)

Hi Jamit,
Bricklink is my first adress for lego parts, I'm a real BL-junkie. I'm observing new additions very carefully and search on a regular basis for discounted items in stock. And I buy in larger quantities to exchange parts with others. But I do not have a special source. Other parts come from Legoland in Günzburg/Germany or Billund/Denmark. Our community here in Germany works very fine, you get many parts in quantities for low prices (as people buy them). There are many hardcore-moccers here in Gernany, building these large displays.
But most parts in quantity com from USA because prices in USA are significant lower than in Germany. An shipping these parts surface is not to cost intensive. I you can get cheap parts, you must by them, if you can use them or not. There will be a time where you need them or someone else needs them.

Hi Steven,
we have two main events here in Germany: the "1000steineland" in Berlin and our meeting in Frechen. I'm visiting these brickfests every year. But they are in Germany. You (and others) are invited to come to us.
