Why can't I order sand bricks off of the Lego website?!
I am adding a new art-deco residential tower to my city, but apparently I will have to make it sand red...
any thoughts on this strange disappearance/absence?

They might not have sand-colors at the Lego website, but they have everything at Bricklink.

How is that possible? Who supplies Bricklink? Are they genuine lego pieces?

I remember my first visit to Bricklink 4 months ago; it was amazing. The stores are privately owned, and through years of business people racked unbelievable bulks of bricks. I still can't imagine it today, and finally yes the bricks are true lego and not a single trace of megoblox or other non-lego products.

Oh, I see.
I think using the Lego site is easier, and that way you don't have to worry about how trustworthy the seller is, or the condition of the blocks.
I will settle for sand red.

Don't get out in the community much? BricklinkIt isn't a fixed store. Think of Ebay: There's different sellers. Lots of different sellers. Some sell new, some sell used, some sell both. Some have sets, some have parts. Some have instructins. And so on. It's all LEGO. Sellers get LEGO from every source anyone else would. Just look around the site...it's my favourite source of LEGO parts. -John "J1A3L5" Langrish. Edit: I see Nannan got to it first.

I have no experience from BrickLink, but anyway..
It might be the best solution to buy your new Lego bricks from someone who lives in the same area. That way you don't need to do any bank trips or that kind of thing...

I don't know what site you went to, buddy, but sand red has been the only sand color on the Lego website. Sand green and sand blue were never available via Lego.com, although Tan was. The colors show up in new sets, so don't get all freaked out.
