Don't you think that LEGO is going into their dark years? I mean, with all this pirates, knights kingdom, etc., LEGO just isn't making the classics that they used to. Every series they make just dissapoints me more with the exception of the new Star Wars LEGO.

It's looking like the second line of KK2 will be better then the first. Hopefully what they were doing with the first line was get kids into castle (my brothers into castle because of KK2). Also LEGO is not buying any more licenses. I guess what i'm saying LEGO is in there dark age but theres a light at the end of the tunnel.

Bring back the Romanticism!!
The fantasy adventures of the exploriens, the idealized wild west, the mysterical fright knights, don't you see they're all romanticized lego?
Just like in history of literature and the arts, Realism grew out of Romanticism. Can't you see this in LEGO?
LEGO made more "accurate" elements, somewhat enhancing the appearance of the sets but leaving less possibilities for those elements to be incorated into your mocs.
Instead of reviving better themes (except castle), LEGO choose to revive city, but with the new "accurate" elements, which has made the sets easier to build thus it will appeal to a wider range of age, particularly the lower ages, like preschool.
LEGO thought that their product will be more interactive than it already is by making pull back motors, light up lightsabers, and remote control racers! It seems almost inevitable that LEGO will someday converge with ordinary toys.
What will come next, I'm scared... will I dream?

Wait a sec. You're stating Exploriens and, even worse, Fright Knights as good LEGO themes?! Fright Knights truly scare me: They were the beginning of the end of Castle LEGO. Horrific! Ever seen Futuron? I disagree that the town sets are more realistic - LEGO is getting ahead of themselves. They're futuristic. Sure, cars are too now. But it seems like they're at least a few years ahead of themselves already. -John "J1A3L5" L.

Ever seen Futuron? -John "J1A3L5" L.I guess we all have different interests. Since I missed out on the older themes (I wasn't at the US yet), I kinda craved them as "new" themes. I never did like town, everything's tal como es, for I'm an escapist. Sin embargo, I still respect all yall's opinions. -Nannan (who speaks spanglish. tal como es= the way it is, sin embargo= nevertheless)

Creator is that little light of hope. SW 2005 is that other little light of hope. Parts packs, parts packs, parts packs.

Althought many AFOLs and other builder has said that the Harry Potter line sucks big time, I myself think it as a good line. Yes, the number of the bricks in one set is rather small, but most of the line continues same colors and such things. The minifig are very poor. It has to do with the fact that HP and SW lines are both brought "merchandise-lines". For SW it doesn't matter, because the faces and other parts are not very highly detailed e.g. it is easier to change the parts. In HP line, it doesn't work. You can have 20 'fig that are all different, except they all have the "Harry Potter"-face, but the details of the torsos and legs do not matter, because they all are Harry Potter in different suits -Q (Sorry for any trace of bad english)

To be honest, I don't really find much in that series. At least, not yet. They do give us good buildings, though.

To be honest, I don't really find much in that series. At least, not yet. Same here, I only have one set so far and I did not buy it. However, this looks like it may be one of the best sets of 2005. A must have for me at only $40(CAD). It has: A Base Plate! 2 Trees 2 Street Lights Lots of Bushes Garbage Can Black Fences 2 Dark Hoods (For Black Riders) 1 White Hood A Pair of Wings A New Animal (in this picture) Black Skeleton Head 5 Minifigs (only 2 peach heads!) Is this the best HP set yet?

Yup. the other one was preliminary... personally, I liked the new one. But it's just not that attractive... it doesn't scream "buy me" like the other things. But it sure comes with skeletons... and tiles.

I noticed this too... The new Town sets are really good, but some other sets... Maybe KK2 will be great. From the looks of it, it should be good.
