Name: B-Wing Fighter
#:6208
Theme: Star Wars
Year:"2006", released in late 2005
Pcs: 435
Figures: 2[/u]
" Powerful fighter of the Rebel fleet!
Build the Rebellion's heavy strike ship with this exciting set! Just like the classic Star Wars vessel, its wings can fold for flight or vertical landing. Challenge the forces of the Empire and use your launchers to save the day! Service tower doubles as a display stand for the fighter and can fold down for easy storage. Cockpit opens so you can put the B-wing pilot at the controls.
* Includes Rebel pilot.
* Fold the wings for landing or flight!
* Missiles launch!
* Service tower doubles as a display stand!"
The B-Wing fighter makes it's return from LEGO, but without the mechanic and droid.
In this version of the B-Wing Fighter, the two figs are a generic rebel pilot sporting a flesh-tone smiley face, and a never before seen Sullastian minifig. Would it have killed to have at least another droid?
The service tower is yellow. Bad choice. The yellow makes it a bit too colourful but I assume it is appealing to children. However, it holds the fighter very strongly.
The fighter itself. It is larger and beefier than its' older counterpart and has the swivelling cockpit feature, where the minifig is always upright no matter what way you hold it. The fighter comes with a weak firing mechanism that depends on the force of bricks hitting other bricks through an elastic band. The firing feature does not allow it to go far. This version of the B-Wing is also stronger than its' older brother and depends on clicky hinges for the wings.
The price was bad. $49.99 CDN (or 49.86 CDN at Wal*Mart ) gave it a bit of hate.
Pros:
-Great parts pack, especially if you're into very sleek ships.
-Large source of bley
Cons:
-Only 2 minifigs
-Price.
7/10
