Set Number: 4483
Pieces: 1065
Minifigs: 4
Year of Release: 2003
Price: $99.99 USD
Construction:
Pretty fair construction for the most part, but from time to time, there will be a part that might be considered "tricky." Head construction wasn't too great.
Minifigs:
The AT-AT comes with 1 Imperial AT-AT pilot, Luke Skywalker *with lightsaber, in Rebel suit. and 2 Imperial Snowtroopers. I really like the AT-AT pilot decals, lots of precision. But the basic shape of it is the same as that of a regular stormtrooper. The snowtroopers, were also good, only slightly lacked. Their helmet was also attached to a "backpack." :uke is basically the same as the X-wing Luke (comes with a blue lightsaber). I really wish LEGO would've added another snowtrooper, as well as a General Veers fig.
AT-AT/Speederbike:
The AT-AT has its pros, and looks good from a distance, but it definitely lacks. There is too much dark gray on the body, like LEGO does with many of their system sets. And the interior is full of off-color pieces, more than most sets. Legs are fairly good, but feet are too close to the legs, there's too much dark gray, and the feet are a bit small. Also, it's not minifig scale, more like "system" scale, which LEGO seems to like. It does not fit close to 40 figs in the body, like it's supposed to. And the head hardly fits 1 fig. Speaking of the head, it's awful. Interior colors are horrid, odd scale, small, hardly connects to the body without falling off all the time, and the flaps never stay closed! That's what really annoyed, I add to modify it a lot to keep them shut. And back to the body, I forgot to say that the body's interior not only lacks in size and color, but sheer accuracy. But that's not really a problem. So, on the outside, sometimes, it is a good model to have, but definitely not the best. Oh, yeah, it's not as large as many people think. The speederbike is fairly accurate, but sort of an extra, since it's not in the movie.
Parts:
One good thing about the AT-AT, is the parts. It includes 1065 pieces. There's hardly any shortcut pieces, which is good. A good supply of grey parts. I've found that the body plates are very useful on large MOCs. So, if you need parts, and you're not totally in love with it on your shelf, go ahead, scrap it for parts.
Durablity:
Definitely not the best durability. The head as probably the worst durability of all, followed by the body. The head flaps on the head never stay closed, and the head commonly falls off the body. The legs are pretty sturdy. So, this is not a set for a 5 year old, for it's very difficult to play with, without getting trashed.
