I'm posting my flickr San Francisco Architecture gallery here in the hopes that someone will notice and build something phenomenal. Don't worry - it's not blobitecture, it's quite feasible. I'm posting this because I went to mocpages and went through the first 3 pages of town building results and the majority were crap. Not sure about the rest of mocpages, but this was extremely disheartening. Since I have no lego collection at the moment, I'm going to ask you to entertain me with your building. www.flickr.com/photos/aortiz/sets/72057594125144674/You'll notice one Frank Lloyd Wright building there - the facade is basically a brick wall with a rounded doorway. It's obviously not the brick that makes it work, but that kickass little detail on the left side - the brick offset and the fissure that runs up the building. a MOC can't be interesting if there's nothing interesting to look at. So, build me a house or something. Don't repost something that's already been put up. Make something new, show it to me, dance monkey, dance.

really? That was one of my least favorites. The skin was nice, the tower was nice, but the rest of it... Herzog and De Meuron have done better stuff, I think. I'd also like to add that to get over the distressing quality of Town Buildings, we should try curtain walls - that is, non-load bearing walls. Now, I don't know much about engineering, but since this is LEGO, it should be fairly obvious that you just need to build up a decent support system inside, then you can go crazy with the outside (the curtain wall). SNOT it, angle it, Technic it, build it. We always see great buildings made out of bricks in normal positions, supporting the entire thing, but I think it's about time we saw something new and unique. If all the engineering is moved to the inside, imagine what you can do with the outside. Argh, so many ideas but no LEGO or even time!
