Does anyone know how the LEGO company decides to reissue retired sets like the ones that they did (pirate and bf ) ? If so please respond back, thank you!

Once they had picked 5 sets they thought people would want, and then put a poll up on LEGO.com for many months. I'm sure they recieve feedback from the community, and look at what sets might still appeal to children currently.
So far I think LEGO has made great choices involving Legends. I just wish they could do them more frequently, or at least regularly.
And in Legendary colours, would be nice...

I thought Lego ended the whole Legends thing. It seemed to have died like the whole "My Own Creation" line, which is a dang shame since those were the best. I still long for the day when they will reissue a monorail set as a Lego Legend. But I guess that's asking a bit much.

First - I haven't heard any official reports of the Legends being over. They have had a couple lower-profile releases, such as the Blue Fury hotrod.
Second - I don't understand everyone going on about the MOC line being dead. LEGO has repeatedly said that they plan on working on it in the future. After all, Dan Siskind's Blacksmith Shop is the only release so far. A great set.

You got to admit though, the MOC line is all but dead. I thought the last ones were those Santa Fe train cars made by James Mathis, and that was at least two years ago. Personally, I think the new digital designer thing was created to replace it.
As for Legends, I'm hoping it isn't dead but I just assumed it was, as Lego no longer has a section for them listed in their shop, and as far as I saw, they weren't selling any rereleases. Only time will tell I guess.
