Name: Pulsar Charger Set Number: 6811 Theme: M:Tron Year: 1990 Pieces: 25 Figures: 1
6811 is the smallest M:Tron set made. Consequently there's not much to be said about it. It's a neat little ship, but isn't much of a stand-alone set. It's best with at least one other M:Tron vehicle.
I personally own 4 of this set. Well, one is missing the red "chair" piece, but that will be fixed soon. Only two sets of instructions though.
Not a stunning set, but it's difficult for a 25 piece set to be especially memorable, and this one makes a perfect starter set, and a easy source of a M:Tron figure.

Link for the set at the LUGNET . I have two M:tron sets, this and 6877 Vector Detector. While I personnally like the Vector more, mainly because it is bigger and has magnets, Charger is neat lil' set. I would buy it in large numbers tho. Those small 4*4 wings are only handy in large numbers. Also the black seat is nice when you need sitting places for tired M:Tronians ^^ -Q EDIT: Ah, sorry Jail. I didn't see that "red" part at your message.

Actually, now that I look at my leftover pieces from the lot of sets, I have an extra of the "nose" pieces: And I have an extra figure. So I hope to get two of those chair-type pieces and have 5 of this set. -John "J1A3L5" Langrish. (Sorry to double-post but TheQ editted his post rather than reply)

Yeah, I don't like very much one line replies. Double-posting is not bad, but one approvable if you have something to say...
Any I have plenty of those kinds of bricks that John showed. Two Aqua-Sharks, one Classic-Space white and two M:trons. Also some totally white one, perhaps ancient space.
Those are hard to use and I believe that I have never seen them in a "good" MOC by some veterans. Don't know why.

Eh, Im getting sick of these M:Tron sets..... Well think about it, we have 14 Star Wars reviews and 4 M:Tron reviews. How could you be sick of M:Tron sets and not Star Wars sets? -Jamit

Because these are sets that are old, and have nothing to do with anything ive seen...is there a story behind these sets?

So basicly your saying, I could take the fighter and say "This is the Earth Republican army fighter, because I say so?" and call it a backstory?
And what do you call most of the sets now?

Personally, M:Tron sets are far better than most Star Wars sets coming out now. The pieces are better, they are much more open with the playability, and are generally more fun. 6989 is my new favourite set. And I'm not just talking about M:Tron. I could just as easily review Blacktron II, Space Police, Ice Planet 2002, or other such themes. Or start on town from the same era...or other themes, though I know less about them. Town and Space are what I collect from that timeframe, mostly. Isolating just Space and Star Wars sets: Older space sets blow most Star Wars sets away, easily, with the exception of most of the UCS line, and a few others. I admit, I used to love Star Wars LEGO. Then I suddenly realized how lacking it was compared to older sets. Just look at the inventories of most of these sets: So many basic plates and stuff, and only a few large pieces. Granted, many sets contained large, pre-made pieces. But these pieces were used standardly throughout the line, and generally didn't make up the part list themselves: They were included for the model shown, but didn't detract from parts you got, because they were only a handful of the pieces. And not just pieces - The sets are so much fun. I admit, I find both 6989 and 6896 fun to drive around. I've never encountered a Star Wars set yet which makes me want to "play" with it, with the exception of the ISD, which is THE most fun model to swoosh. I keep finding myself rearranging my M:Tron sets on my shelf, with the figures in different positions each time... Basically, I believe if people should be sick fo anything it should be the Star Wars sets. I'm not saying they're all awful sets, but they were the ones brought up along with M:Tron. There is much worse than Star Wars...but an even larger amount much superior. -John "J1A3L5" Langrish, who is looking for another 6989 or two for his customizing purposes...

Ice Planet, Spyrius, Space Police.. (Incestoids ) Those were the go' ol' days. It is shame that these youngsters have only small change to read the "ancient" catalogs. If some one finds the scans of those old catalogs (BrickShelf used to had them), please send the url for those. I have almost every catalog since -91 but I have missed the "m:tron" century. Anyway, these series had storyline, but it was very, vey open. Usually TLC said that "these are the good guys, these are the bad guys" and rest was up to you. Much funnier -Q

Ice Planet, Spyrius, Space Police.. (Incestoids ) Those were the go' ol' days. Sorry, but Insectoids are lame in my opinion. I have a few sets, including the large spider-base thingy. I got it for 30 bucks, Canadian. Even at that price, it's questionable. Even Spyrius I don't especially like - I'm not sure why, I've just never been a fan. It is shame that these youngsters have only small change to read the "ancient" catalogs. If some one finds the scans of those old catalogs (BrickShelf used to had them), please send the url for those. Check out the Brick Factory.I have almost every catalog since -91 but I have missed the "m:tron" century. I have every year's catalogue from around that time too. I have one featuring M:Tron, too. I just wish I hadn't written all over them in pen when I was younger... Anyway, these series had storyline, but it was very, vey open. Usually TLC said that "these are the good guys, these are the bad guys" and rest was up to you. Much funnier Indeed. In the oldest catalogue I have, featuring BlackTronII, M:Tron, and Space Police II, it gives a description such as "M:Tron boasts the most advanced magnet technology in the galaxy." and nothing more. Other than that, it's all up to you. Maybe sometime I'll look it up in my older catalogues... And what do you call most of the sets now? Lame, filled with crappy short cuts. Pieces like this make me so mad : Not all sets are overstuffed with them, but most. There's still sets out there that are great. About the two pieces mentioned - The 2x1x2 piece, I honestly have never used outside building an official set. The 2x1x5 is actually a quite useful piece for internal structuring, as it doesn't "break" (pieces come apart, no ABS harmed!) the same way a stack of 1x2's might. However, this isn't an issue with just two stacked bricks; especially in the ways LEGO uses them. -John "J1A3L5" Langrish, who notices his method of signing his posts is catching on.

Some are OK, I found that the New Jedi Star Fighter was an amazing set with very good pieces. However, KK2 was stocked with them. Those would have been good sets if not for those 2x1x2 peaces and these: The Citadel of Orlan had 5 of them ! -Jamit, who agrees with Jail, except I put a face to the mask... ;D

Maybe I'll pick up that set sometime. As for KKII...well, they still have ShadowKnights. About the only part I like about them. The Shadow Knights are awesome. I also like the red armour. In currently scanning an insections LEGO Maniac Magazine *Looks down at drawer full of em, which he took out of his shelf*quote] Insections = Insectiods? Eww. Just as annoying as real bugs, and half the quality. They even included very gimmicky light&sound pieces. Is scanning the magazines legal? I've never heard the issue brought up. I just have TONS of old ones. How old? How many is tons? Every last issue? Old catalogues and magazines interest me a lot. -John "J1A3L5" Langrish, who is unsure whether copying my signature is praise, or if I should be annoyed.
